Strides for CJD: Honoring Brandon Londer
October 14, 2017
Wausau, Wisconsin
In support of the Wausau 2017 Strides for CJD event, Briotech teams up with event host, Karen Londer, to facilitate a special product donation in honor of her son, Brandon Londer, who was diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) in October 2015.
Strides for CJD is an annual event organized by the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation in which participants from all over the country gather in their communities to make a difference for those affected by CJD. The Wausau timed 5K Run/Walk & Kids’ Fun Run event took place at Doepke Park, a 38-acre recreation area where families paid tribute to their loved ones and raised awareness for CJD.
CJD is a rare, rapidly progressive neurodegenerative disease, one of several Prion Diseases caused by prion proteins that misfold in the brain. There is no treatment or cure and the disease is invariably fatal. It is the mission of the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation to support families affected by Prion Disease, raise awareness, and support medical education and research.
